I spent three days with a 1/2 inch hammer drill and only got about an inch of the first of four 1/2 inch holes drilled into my concrete garage floor. The hardware store recommended this type drill; I didn't see how it could be that much better, but boy was I wrong! It was like I was drilling butter, only a little down force and it was done. The only problem was, it went so easily I drilled the first two holes too deep before I caught myself.
