Technically an 18 volt battery, but great run-time nonetheless. A bit pricey. October 5, 2011
I've used this battery on pretty much every tool in the kit and am continually impressed. For instance, when in use on the Impact Driver, I was able to drive 100+ screws into hard wood before needing a charge. Using the drill, I was able to drill several holes for 1/2'' x 2-3/4'' Wedge Anchors, then drill 6 holes in a steel car frame and still had battery left over. The saws, while harder on the battery, were still able to be used to cut several pieces of timber for a outside deck.
Dewalt definitely has a winner with the new 20 Volt Max line. I just really don't like the trend all tool manufacturers are taking with the "Max" ratings. Reminds me too much of car audio. But this doesn't really matter as long as the tools/batteries perform and these definitely do.
I will say, however, these are quite pricey if bought by themselves. But DeWalt isn't alone with it's battery pricing. Most of the "contractor-grade" tool makers tend to get a bit crazy with battery pricing.
So much better than my old Dewalt drill batteries March 15, 2012
I love being able to charge both batteries at night and not having to leave my expensive batteries charging at the temporary power box 100 yards away from where I'm working where anyone can walk off with them. I can use this battery all day in my drill and it doesn't die. Under exceptionally heavy use I might have to break out a fresh battery partway through the day.
Gotta love that extra juice! February 23, 2012
