DEWALT DW317K 5.5 Amp Top Handle Jig Saw Kit
Product Description
The DEWALT DW317K compact jigsaw kit provides you with an easy-to-control saw ideal for detailed work and curved cuts that require real precision. Make fast, accurate work of tough jobs with variable-speed control, a shoe that bevels, and the saw's four-position orbital action. All work together to help give you complete control over the tool and your workpiece.
Fast and Versatile with Variable-Speed Control
The jigsaw's variable-speed control allows you to make quick, accurate adjustments and utilize speeds ranging from 0 strokes per minute to 3,100 strokes per minute. This application-specific performance translates to improved control and cleaner results. In addition, the saw delivers a 1-inch stroke length, and its dependable 5.5 amp motor provides the power you need for tough applications.
Adding to the saw's application-specific performance is a four-position orbital action for quicker, more aggressive cuts. When you need to make accurate bevel cuts, a shoe that bevels makes it easy to setup for cutting angles that range from 0 degrees to 45 degrees.
Designed for Control and Durability
This easy-to-maneuver jigsaw weighs just 6.2 pounds, but that doesn't mean it compromises on dependability or comfort. An all-metal gear case provides the durability necessary in a professional shop environment, while a comfortable grip allows you to work longer and produce work with precision.
Save Time with Tool-Free Blade Changes
Whether you're working with a variety of specialty materials that require different blades or you're simply ready for a more aggressive cut, the DEWALT tool-free blade clamp allows you to complete blade changes quickly.
This compact jigsaw kit also comes with a DEWALT warranty package that includes a three-year limited warranty, a one-year free service contract, and a 90-day money back guarantee.

great saw for the price August 11, 2005
My nice bosch was destroyed being run over in the parking lot which was a great loss to me .
Not having the funds to spring for another new bosch at the present and since I can't live without a jigsaw this one looked like it may fit the bill .
I read many reviews here tryong to decide which would be the best buy for the money I had . The reviews did not look too good for the dewalt 321 or the 318 but no one had bashed this model yet .
I must admit when I got it I had doubts mainly because of the other dewalt model reviews and this saw did not have quite the same design as the bosch as far as the blade change and the shoe did not have positive locks as the bosch offers , but the 317 does offer a adjustable scale so once you set the base a perfect 90 degrees and adjust the scale to line up with that mark it cuts a 90 degree cut pretty well , at least i had no problem .
It does not have a blower to push saw dust off the line but I noticed the motor cooling fan did a pretty good job on it's own .
I was not certain about the blade guide since the other dewalt models seemed to present a blade drift problem on the 321 and 318 . I thought looking at the design and testing it it would be easy for the blade to leave the roller guide but in actual use the pressure from the blade against the roller held it in place even on curves . I cut straight and curves in 3/4" hard crate wood which was knotty and had warp and was harder than pine and the saw did the job even with the cheap blade provided . I realized i did not have the saw on orbit at all and once swithced it cut even faster and better along with a smoother finish cut .... Read more ›
